What to Expect on Your First Visit to Our Queens Chiropractor

Your first visit to the chiropractor will be a relaxed one. When you arrive, our friendly staff will ask you to fill out the new patient forms, if you haven't already. Next, you'll meet with our chiropractor. Dr. Lee sees patients of all kinds and who are experiencing a variety of physical ailments. Whether you're seeing a chiropractor because of an auto accident injury or because of back pain, Dr. Lee will ask your questions to better understand your pain.

Next, Dr. Lee will perform an assessment of your condition. This part will include a thorough examination of your neck and spine. Dr. Lee will be able to tell a lot from this initial exam, but if necessary, he'll also perform an X-Ray. Once Dr. Lee has made a diagnosis of your condition, he'll talk to you about your unique condition and together, you two will devise a treatment plan.

Understanding Chiropractic Care

If you've never been to a chiropractor before, you may have many questions about what chiropractic is and what it can do for you. Essentially, chiropractic is the treatment of conditions and injuries in the body by healing and adjusting parts of the spine and central nervous system. Chiropractors use a variety of methods to heal patients, including:

  • Spinal adjustments. Spinal adjustments are a method of restoring balance to the spinal column. Spinal adjustments are generally done by hand.

  • Massage therapy. Massage therapy is used to relax the muscles, improving range of motion, reducing pain in affected areas and preventing patients from assuming compensatory postures.

  • Exercise and stretches. Exercise and stretches also improve range of motion and can help the body return to its previous level of functionality.

  • Nutritional counseling. Nutritional counseling can help patients return to health and can also help them lose weight, which can reduce the stress on the musculoskeletal system and speed patient recovery times.
